As new University of Cincinnati athletic director Mike Thomas starts today, he will have his work cut out for him, outgoing athletic director Bob Goin said.
"We've got to increase our fan base, we need an endowed scholarship program, there needs to be an evaluation of programming and staff," Goin said. "There's enough work to be done, it's not a slam-dunk job."
Thomas' biggest immediate concern will be hiring a permanent men's basketball coach to replace the departed Bob Huggins.
Even with the uncertainty in UC's highest-profile program, Thomas will also be coming into a much better job ...
