Public health in Boone County should have a different look next year. How different depends on whether the county decides to remain part of the four-county Northern Kentucky Independent District Health Department or leaves to form its own health department.
If the county elects to leave, it will take a hefty portion of the district's funding and some of the district's assets with it.
If it stays, it will be on the condition that the district allows the county to tailor more programs to meet its specific needs, said Boone County Judge-Executive Gary Moore.
