EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

CIRCULATION figures have declined for most L.A. County newspapers, with more people getting their news from the Internet, television and other media. Weekday circulation for L.A. County-based publications fell 4.5 percent, to 1.8 million, for the six months ended Sept. 30, compared with the like period last year.

The Los Angeles Times, which is owned by Chicago-based Tribune Co., remained the largest paper, with a daily circulation of 843,432, down 3.8 percent from the like period a year earlier.
