Dec. 24--Compared with major biotechnology hubs like San Francisco, Princeton, N.J., and Philadelphia, Memphis turns out to be a good deal for potential tenants.
But that doesn't necessarily mean companies will be pulling up stakes and rushing to the Mid-South.
In a study of 50 established and up-and-coming biotech cities in North America and Europe, Memphis ranked as the seventh least costly. The study, by the private consultant The Boyd Co., concluded it costs about $8.9 million annually to operate in Memphis.
