Dec. 24--Authorities in Arkansas are investigating a claim that a former Tulsa World newspaper carrier killed a hitchhiker there 36 years ago.
Paul Williford, 64, who has said he killed two Tulsa women in September and October, reportedly confessed to killing the hitchhicker, whom he claims to have picked up near Cabot, Ark., in 1969, said Lonoke County Sheriff's Lt. Steve Finch.
Investigators searched an area Wednesday near a quarry about three miles south of Cabot, Finch said. Williford graduated from high school there in 1961, records show.
