The Puerto Rico Convention Center, a US$415 million facility located in San Juan, opened its doors for business on Nov. 17. The opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony that kicked off three days of activities and special events for invited guests and VIPs at the Center:
The 580,000 sq ft (53,882 meters) Center is the largest facility of its kind in the Caribbean and is the most technologically-advanced in the Caribbean and Latin America, said Ana Maria Viscasillas, president & CEO, Puerto Rico Convention Bureau, the official sales and marketing agent for the Puerto Rico Convention Center.
