11th Plan growth rate may be 7 per cent: Experts
New Delhi, Dec 28 (PTI) Economic thinkers have projected a 7 per cent growth rate for the 11th Five Year Plan period, discounting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's optimism on achieving 10 per cent growth during that period.
According to views expressed at a seminar on macroeconomic projections for the 11th Plan, experts from NCAER, IEG, ISI Bangalore, Oxus, CII and IRADe said the fiscal deficit would also be higher than the government prescribed rate of 3 per cent of GDP by the end of the Plan period in 2012.
