CHICAGO -- Supercenters, discount stores and warehouse club outlets are increasingly targeting purchasers of private label products, which have long been the fare of such traditional retail formats as drug stores and supermarkets.
The trend is intensifying cross-channel competition for value-conscious private label shoppers, according to "Times and Trends: Private Label: The Battle for Value-Oriented Shoppers Intensifies," a report released by Information Resources Inc.
