Intermedia is bringing the epic journey of "Marco Polo" to the small screen in the form of a miniseries.
Moritz Bormann, former CEO of Intermedia parent International media, is producing with Konstantin Thoeren. Andrei Konchalovsky ("The Odyssey") will direct from a teleplay he is reworking with Chris Solomine, with whom he wrote 1997's "Odyssey."
Mini will trace the 13th century explorer's travels from Venice into the heart of Asia, shooting on location in Europe and China next year.
