Dec. 29--It was a frustrating year for Kermit Cintron. Fittingly, it ended with a little more frustration. The Reading welterweight was in position to fight California's Mark Suarez in an IBF elimination bout that would have led to a mandatory title shot for the winner.
Cintron promoter Bobby Bostick and Suarez promoter Don King were in negotiation for more than a month. Bostick eventually outbid King for the rights to the fight.
