Dec. 29--A Downers Grove woman will be honored Thursday for her role in the passage of a new state law that requires government agencies to inform residents of toxic substances in the air, water and soil, officials said Wednesday. Jana Bendik, 21, who filed a lawsuit two years ago contending contaminated drinking water caused her to get cancer, is one of 13 recipients of this year's 2005 Environmental Hero Awards, a spokesman for Lt.
