Dec. 30--Years ago, when Arthur Bien was growing up in Kirtland, the Mentor area was not as developed as it is today. Concord Township certainly wasn't, either.
In those days, when the Bien family got into the car and traveled east on Route 84 toward the Concord Plaza, there were only two destinations to which they could be headed: the family doctor's office or Biagio's Donuts.
Biagio's Donut Shop and Pizzeria has been a fixture in Eastlake for decades, but the revered business closed its store in Concord three years ago.
When Bien, as an adult, was recently looking to open a second location for the bakery ...
