New Orleans students thrive at Governor's School for Arts.(Daily Break)

WHEN THE Governor's School for the Arts asked its students if any of them would be willing to host a student from New Orleans in their home for a few months, Alexandr McDowell , 14 , immediately volunteered.

"I saw the devastation, and something was in my heart," he says.
