TAIPEI, Jan 2 Asia Pulse - Taiwan's hotel occupancy rate for the first ten months of 2005 was 71.3 per cent, up 9.7 percentage points over the same period in 2001, according to tallies released recently by the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS).

While the occupancy rate of international hotels increased 10.6 percentage points from 2001 to stand at 72.6 per cent for the January-October period, that of ordinary hotels rose 4.9 percentage points to 63.8 per cent.

DGBAS officials said the hotel occupancy rate for the whole of 2005 is expected to reach a record high.
