There has been a lot of discussion about the increased costs of gasoline and projected price spikes in home heating fuel during the 2005-06 heating season. Many useful consumer tips have been offered such as turning down the thermostat, caulking, adding more insulation, and running the dishwasher only when it is fully loaded. The U.S. Department of Energy and the Alliance to Save Energy also encourage consumers to consider the Energy Star designation when choosing appliances. This is good advice.
