THE Cheltenham Gold Cup betting was headed by a gelding who pulled up last time and an Irish hope with a dismal course record last night after defending champion Kicking King was ruled out.
Kingscliff and Beef Or Salmon top bookmakers' lists after trainer Tom Taaffe revealed that his gelding had sustained a tendon injury when winning the King George VI Chase at Sandown on Boxing Day.
