Jan. 3--CULLOWHEE -- Kitara McMoore's career night propelled Elon University to its first Southern Conference victory of the season.
McMoore, a sophomore forward, produced 31 points and 16 rebounds as visiting Elon took care of Western Carolina 85-72 in women's basketball Monday night.
Nicole Allison, a sophomore guard, added 20 points while Robyn Shipley connected on three 3-pointers and chipped in 11 points for the Phoenix (5-6 overall, 1-2 Southern Conference).
