Richard Pryor, the revolutionary comedian who used his racy humor to attack racism and stereotypes and inspired and motivated many other comics in the process, has died. He was 65.

Pryor, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1986, died from a heart attack at his home in the San Fernando Valley section of Los Angeles.

He used his own turbulent life for much of his humor, shocking and entertaining audiences at the same time with his liberal use of four-letter expletives and the "N" word.
