Contract negotiations came down to the final moments and Glen Mason backed up from his goal, which fits with the tradition of his past three Minnesota football teams.
These three seasons contained more potential for the Gophers than at any time in four decades. This was a roster with exceptional running backs, adequate receivers and a wonderful offensive line. In an era when offense decides college football games, the Gophers have been blessed with tremendous offense.
