Jan. 5--A Hall County activist said she hopes the area around Lake Lanier will consider separating from its county to form a city, a-la Sandy Springs.
The rapidly growing area of south Hall County has found itself squeezed from the south by annexations by the city of Buford, said Robin Carlisle.
Carlisle, a former City Council member in Flowery Branch, hopes to start holding meetings to discuss incorporation next week, she said. She described, tentatively, an area south of Winder Highway bordering Flowery Branch, Buford, Braselton, Oakwood and the Lake Lanier Islands resort as the boundaries of the new city.
