Winter Pays a Call
Autumn enters and hangs her red-gold cloak,
Nestling in a cozy corner until her time arrives again.
Winter takes his cue, stretching languidly
And readying for his turn about the Seasons.
Soon, he will float a fine, cool blanket over every leaf and branch.
His visits are not always welcomed as happily as Autumn's,
But once he drops snowflakes into upturned hands and expectant
