A COUPLE returned home after a night out to find a car had careered off the road and ploughed into their living room.
The Renault Megane skidded off the road and smashed into the detached house on Openfields Close, Halewood, just before 9pm last night.
An ambulance took two people to Whiston Hospital with minor injuries, one of them believed to have been the driver of the car.
Officers contacted a building surveyor who decided the house was unsafe and advised that the couple, believed to be in their 30s, should move for their own safety. Workers then used steel poles to support the wall where the car hit, leaving a large hole.
