Jan. 9--AWARDS:
--Supervisor James W. Silva, together with Thomas Beckett, manager of public finance for Orange County, received an Honorable Mention Award in New York City, presented by Bond Buyer newspaper. Both officials were recognized for "innovativeness and uniqueness of the use of public financing" to help the county recover from a bankruptcy declared in 1994.
--Aliso Viejo-based EPIC Brand Communications, a health-care marketing company, was the 2005 Award of Excellence winner at RX Club Show, which honors the best in pharmaceutical-product advertising and promotion. The company was honored for its work for ...
