House and Senate negotiators continued to hammer out their differences on the 2006 defense authorization bill with a final vote on the massive military bill expected by the end of the week.

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) said in remarks on the Senate floor yesterday afternoon that Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman (SASC) John Warner (R-Va.) "has completed work on the defense authorization conference report, and that may also be around here mid-week" for a vote.
