On Oct. 17, FDA issued warning letters to firms that marketed and distributed cherry products for conditions that caused them to be drugs.
The websites claimed the products could prevent everything from cancers, gout, arthritis and migraine headaches to fibromyalgia, heart disease, diabetes, cataracts and many other conditions. None of these claims was substantiated with evidence or trial data.
The companies in violation included:
