Newton horror master has eyes on `Scavenger Hunt' prize.(News)

When creating his horror flick "Hostel," Newton native Eli Roth said his goal was to make "the darkest, sickest, most ultraviolent film" he could.

And for his next trick, the 33-year-old writer-director will take on his hometown in "Scavenger Hunt."

A comedy, still in script form, "Scavenger Hunt" tells the infamous tale of Newton South High School's 2002 XXX-rated scavenger hunt, which became a public relations debacle for the posh suburb. The hunt featured nudity, sex acts, drugs, drinking and vandalism. In other words, box-office gold!
