Jan. 11--SANFORD -- Despite complaints from some unhappy parents Tuesday night, the Seminole County School Board approved attendance zones for four middle schools that will shift about 1,585 students next summer to reduce crowding.
The unanimous decision by the board to adopt Superintendent Bill Vogel's rezoning proposal for the Sanford and Lake Mary-area schools brought disappointment for parents fighting the plan. Attendance zones for Greenwood Lakes, Millennium and Sanford middle schools will be adjusted and a zone created for the new Markham Woods Middle set to open with the start of the new school year July 31.
