ATLANTA -- NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR) today announced that Brown Shoe Company, Inc. (NYSE:BWS) has signed an order to equip all of its stores with NCR point-of-sale (POS) systems running on Microsoft's Windows(R) Embedded for Point of Service software platform. NCR and Brown Shoe also have signed a five-year maintenance contract.
Brown Shoe, which operates nearly 1,300 retail shoe stores throughout the United States and Canada, including the Famous Footwear and Naturalizer chains, is deploying NCR RealPOS(TM) 80 terminals, with flat-panel touchscreen displays and thermal receipt printers.
