A second person has been arrested in connection with the killing of Melissa Dawn Bauer, whose body was found Dec. 20 in a park east of Scio.
Linn County sheriff's detectives arrested Tonya Lynn Neal-Strawn, 35, of Lebanon, on Wednesday on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder and hindering prosecution.
She was being held in the Linn County Jail on $306,000 bail.
Detectives believe that Neal-Strawn was present at the time of the murder and took part in destroying evidence related to the crime, Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller said. She is the niece of a man charged with the murder.
