The Newsweek opinion column "Engineering a New Image" caught my attention for a variety of reasons, both personal and professional. Seeing that the article came from the CEO of Martin Marietta first attracted me to the article. To my mind, Martin Marietta has built a positive image over the years, one that incorporates excellence in engineering design (the experimental probe on Mars) and corporate sponsorship of cultural events (Boston Pops concerts on public television).
