CHESHIRE aquarium operator Deep Sea Leisure yesterday revealed flat pre-tax profits for the 12 months to October 31, but insisted it was the victim of its own success.

Its two attractions - at Ellesmere Port and in Fife in Scotland - had seen big increases in visitor numbers in the previous two years but that has levelled off in the past 12 months.

Consequently, turnover was slightly down in the 12 months to October last year, at just under pounds 6.6m against just over pounds 6.7m in 2004. Pre-tax profit was also down very slightly from pounds 1.654m in 2004 to pounds 1.65m.
