WAKEFIELD J -- WAKEFIELD - J. Ernest Pittman, 94, passed away at his home in Wakefield, with his family by his side Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006. Born May 22, 1911, in Dendron, Va., he was the son of the late Ernest Augusta Pittman and Emma Grubbs Pittman. He was a 1928 graduate of Dendron High School and married the late Mary Lovell Wood of Claremont in 1931. Ernest opened his first business in the M.G. Service Station in Wakefield in 1935. He received a Chrysler franchise in 1936 and opened Southside Motor Co. in Wakefield at that time. In 1967, he opened Pittman Chrysler-Plymouth in Williamsburg and was the owner and operator of this business until 1998 when he retired. Mr. ...
