Denver native George Keith, an accomplished jazz saxophone player and teacher, died of pancreatic cancer at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Jan. 8. He was 72.
"Music was my dad's life," said son Devin Keith, of Omaha. "That was his baby - his saxophone. My dad carried around his mouthpiece. He was always ready to play."
Said nephew Amir Mustafa, of Stockton, Calif., "He taught me. He was very thorough in trying to get you to understand scales, melodies and harmonies, and how they are all related."
