In a small room at the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds is a little exhibition entitled 'Thomas Woolner: Seeing Sculpture through Photography'. It comprises just a marble bust of Tennyson; a plaster statuette, Love, a modest number of photographs; a chromolithograph; and a couple of volumes of Victorian periodicals. It is a quiet show, too, unassuming, monochrome and austere, but the more I see of bloated, sprawling 'blockbusters', the more I enjoy exhibitions like this one.
