AN attack on North Wales' "sick note culture" will see benefit claimants off work with stress have their handouts cut if they fail to attend interviews.
A cabinet minister last night admitted the controversial measure was needed to meet an ambitious pledge to get 10,000 North Wales incapacity benefit (IB) claimants back to work.
Work and Pensions Secretary John Hutton said he wanted "increased obligations" on the sick and disabled to find work.
Latest figures show 46,700 people across North and mid Wales claim benefits and are economically inactive.
