Article: Central Linn schools accept superintendent's resignation.(Schools)

Byline: The Register-Guard

BROWNSVILLE - The Central Linn School District has accepted the midyear resignation of Superintendent Max Harrell.

The board took the action in a unanimous vote Monday night. No reason was given, and the district has declined a Register-Guard request for Harrell's resignation agreement at least until it can consult its lawyer, Steven Herron of Salem.

Harrell, superintendent since July 2001, had been on paid administrative leave since mid-November while Herron investigated school board chairman Pat McConnel's discovery that Harrell had unilaterally converted a voluntary pay cut into vacation days.
