Mori Seiki U.S.A., Inc. says its NL series of CNC lathes is becoming increasingly popular among medical manufacturers, particularly those specializing in the production of joint replacement components. These devices are routinely constructed of titanium or stainless steel.
The milling capability has been designed to be comparable to that of a machining center's, allowing the lathe to meet the requirements of a lean supply chain. Joint replacement parts are available in kits that can be customized to accommodate specific body types.
