Katrina, Wilma and Rita--whose wicked winds crushed buildings and lives across the southern United States--are expected to inflict more collateral damage in the form of higher insurance rates.
Some businesses, especially those with a lot of property to insure--especially close to bodies of water--may find it advantageous to renew insurance policies before Jan. 1, even if it means canceling a current policy, said Robert Lawrence, a senior vice president at Marsh Inc.'s Norwalk office.
