LIVERPOOL has been ranked joint bottom in the country for the number of schools failing its pupils. League tables showing the worst 100 schools where children's results got worse between the ages of 11 and 16 featured eight schools in the city, with Breckfield named as the worst locally.
Campion, De La Salle, Ruffwood, St Benedict's, Shorefields, Parklands and Fazakerley followed. Manchester was the only other LEA to have so many schools make it into the table.
The table is based on the value added score, which monitors each pupil's progress between 11 and 16. Parklands, Breckfield and Shorefields were also in the bottom 200 ...
