Long-term improvements to air quality and low pollution levels in our towns and cities are being maintained in the UK, new figures released today show.
Urban pollution levels in 2005 were similar to 2004, while rural pollution was a little lower, according to government estimates.
Defra's provisional annual Air Quality Sustainable Development Indicator for 2005 http://www.defra.gov.uk/news/2006/060119a.htm shows average urban levels of particulates at 22 microgrammes per cubic metre, ...
