The California-based microchip maker is just one of many companies the state has attracted of late
The recent announcement that Santa Clara-based Intel Corporation would build a $1 billion dollar microchip plant creating up to 1,000 new jobs in Rio Rancho, N.M. is the latest in a growing wave of companies expanding to or relocating in New Mexico.
It's actually nothing new for companies to leave California and other states for relatively lower costs in the Rocky Mountain states. What is new is the growing list of industry giants, mid-size companies and small businesses that are choosing New Mexico.
