Jan. 19--STILLWATER -- Oklahoma State coach Eddie Sutton is nearing a milestone.
No, not the chase for 800 NCAA wins. That's at least a month away.
Sutton is four wins shy of another prestigious accomplishment -- 1,000 wins overall.
Including seven seasons at Tulsa Central High School and three seasons at Southern Idaho Junior College, Sutton is close to joining Arizona's Lute Olson as the only NCAA coach to compile 1,000 wins without coaching in the NBA.
"This is something I never would have thought possible when I was coaching high school," Sutton said. "I never thought I'd leave high school."
