If you're not familiar with a time when the Irish oppressed the English, welcome to "Tristan & Isolde." The film has only a vague grasp of the Dark Ages, in large part because it was, well, dark. And though it is not going to satisfy Wagner buffs either, you could do a lot worse for a date movie.
A type of medieval "Titanic" and more fun to watch, the film features two appealing young characters played by smoldering, sinewy, Arthurian knight-like James Franco and Kate Winslet-like, sweetly voluptuous ...
