With roots in a New York institution, the bright and white Cafe Paradiso makes a sparkling debut in Cleveland.
If, at first glance, the Cafe Paradiso brings a sense of deja vu, so much the better. For the project--a hybrid comprising espresso bar, casual self-service restaurant offering variations of the ubiquitous pasta, sandwich, pastry fare, plus gourmet food shop--had New York's famed Dean & DeLuca as a reference point. The stated goal of both client and designer was to bring a bit of the SoHo institution's style to the midwest. Evidence of their success takes tangible form in an IBD/Interior Design magazine award.
