TUNED TO CONSUMER requests for snacking alternatives, candy suppliers are forging trails in the national brand-dominated fruit snack sector comprised of liquid-filled, shaped, roll-up and leather items.
What draws candy suppliers into the sector is consumers' calls for healthier snack items. Fruit snacks typically provide a fun, palate-pleasing alternative, suppliers say.
