The local/Lebanese Arabian Construction Company (ACC) has signed the estimated $250 million main contract for the Capital Plaza development in Abu Dhabi. The award, one of the largest in recent years for a building project in the capital, involves the construction of a large mixed-use development on a plot adjacent to the Sheraton hotel on the Abu Dhabi corniche (MEED 19:11:04).
Bids for the 32-month main package were submitted a year ago by four contractors: Athens-based Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCC); Turkey's Nurol Group; Saudi Oger; and ACC, which also carried out the piling package.
