Amaryllises have become a favorite holiday flower, both for decorating and gift giving. Some of these showy plants boast trumpet-shaped blooms the size of a salad plate, others are more delicate and petite. Though the majority sold are in shades of red - especially at Christmas time - hybrid amaryllises are available in peach, red-orange, white, a range of pinks, even two-tone combinations.
