The Twin Cities dance community underwent several seismic shifts in 2005. First, the departures. Bonnie Mathis, former principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre, cofounded Ballet Arts Minnesota 16 years ago. Since then, Mathis has taught, coached and critiqued almost every ballet dancer and company in the Twin Cities. On Jan. 1, she returns East as ballet mistress for the Boston Ballet and director of Boston Ballet II.
