WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS that enable some families to raise and nurture gifted children? What are the specific roles of the parents in this regard? This study, undertaken by the Young Persons' Institute for the Promotion of Art and Science (YPIPAS) in Israel, (Landau, 1990), attempted to cross-validate the findings of a study (Landau & Weissler, 1993) and extend them to three groups of families: those with no gifted children (Group A), those with one gifted child (Group B), and those with more than one gifted child (Group C).
