The Martha Graham Dance Company comes to Eugene for the first time ever on Sunday for a single afternoon performance at the Hult Center.
Graham, who died in 1991, was one of the pioneers of modern dance. Born in 1894, she collaborated with such figures as composers Aaron Copland and Samuel Barber and sculptor Isamu Noguchi during her landmark career, which revitalized dance with a deep physicality.
Time magazine called her the ``dancer of the century'' in 1998.
